Young Women’s Recognition Night: The Fox Chapel Area Branch held its first biennial event on March 14, 2006.  It was designed to recognize and encourage middle school girls who excel in and show strong potential and interest in math and science. The evening also featured a panel discussion by young professional women presently working or studying in the fields of science, engineering, medicine, and information technology as well as the presentation of scholarships to the high school students (see above).  In addition, the grants to two middle school teachers were presented (see above).  The selection of the middle school honorees was made by each science and math teacher at Dorseyville Middle School.  Parents, teachers and administrators attended this event. For additional information contact: president@aauwfoxchapelareapa.org, Subject: AAUW YWRN.  The next Young Women’s Recognition Night is scheduled for March 11, 2008.
